Gerret studied business and industrial engineering in Karlsruhe, New York and Atlanta. He started his
career in solar thermal power plants, then founded a publishing franchise and switched to lightweight composites when he took over CarbonTT in 2015. Gerret has a wife and two daughters and lives in Hamburg, Germany.
