Frédéric Sanchez, a French national born August 29, 1961, holds a Master’s degree in philosophy. He
started his career as a professor of philosophy at high-schools in the Rouen (France) academy and at
the Lycée Français in Valencia (Spain). He is also a graduate of the French Ecole Nationale
d'Administration (ENA) in 2000, after which he started a career in diplomacy.
He then worked at the Regional Council of the Eure “département” as Director of Communications,
then as Deputy General Manager in charge of finance and resources. Since 2008, Frédéric Sanchez
has been dedicating his career to his elective responsibilities.
Since March 2001, he is the mayor of Petit-Quevilly. Over the period 2003-2009, he has been Deputy
Vice President in charge of sustainable development, rail policy and community cooperation for the
Communauté de Métropole Rouennaise then of the CREA (Communauté de l'Agglomération Rouen-Elbeuf-Austreberthe) since January 2010. Since June 23, 2012 he is the President of the CREA andsince January 2015, he is also President of the Métropole Rouen Normandie, which gathers 71
municipalities and close to 500,000 inhabitants.
